A newly identified exploit, known as BlueKeep, is being used by unauthorized actors to gain system level access to healthcare networks via unprotected medical devices.  This exploit is similar to the Eternal Blue exploit used to spread the ransomware, WannaCry, in 2017.

It is essential for all stakeholders using networked medical devices to install patches, offered by Microsoft, to protect them from BlueKeep and subsequent attacks that could result in loss of facility networks, false imaging data, and other life-threatening disruptions.

Please click on the below link for the full alert from the Connecticut Intelligence Center.  It includes a detailed description of the threat, its potential impacts, and links to the appropriate Microsoft patches.  PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR IT DEPARTMENT so they may take appropriate action to keep your facility safe and operational.
